Way too long...

Ok it has been way too long since I blogged last, so I thought I would up date everyone. From my last post I am not doing much of the can't wait to do list. I have graduated! I have moved (I am waiting on paint and furniture still, so I am not fully unpacked). I am reading books that don't have anything to do with theory! Oh and I am headed to Boston and Maine next week. I have a conference for work for 2 1/2 days and have Friday off for the holiday, so I decided to make a weekend out of it as well. My aunt and 11 year old cousin are going with me, so it will be days full of exploration. I am super excited. I promise to post pictures when I get back. For now, you can see a graduation picture from a few months ago.

Spring has come...finally!

Well I guess it is way over due to post something on my blog. The countdown has officially begun until graduation. I have two more weeks of classes (presentations and paper, of course) and then I graduate the following week! I spent 4 hours looking for a dress I can wear for graduation and my BBQ and I found it (but I'm not going to post a picture until afterwards)! I can't wait for so many things.

I can't wait to:
  • not have to do homework
  • read a book that doesn't have research attached
  • have my Wednesday nights back
  • have my weekends free of homework
  • be able to FINALLY use my Cricut
  • catch up on all the movies I have missed
  • go places on the weekends
  • cook more
  • experiment with my baking
  • update my blog more often
  • and much much more!
So as I finish the last few weeks of school a lot is still going on at work. One of my co-workers, Ginny-Beth, is leaving at the end of June. This week we are doing two more interviews for her position. We brought one person to campus last week.

On a personal note, I am going home this weekend to spend time with my family and a well needed break from work and school.

I am blogging for the second time this year and it's only the second week of the year. What is going on? Not much has happened since the start of January. I have been doing physical therapy on my neck from the car accident in November. I go twice a week. On Friday, I got more taped up to help alleviate stress on my neck. Normally the Dr. tapes the back of my neck to relieve headaches, but this time she did that as well taping my shoulders to help with posture and take pressure off my neck. I woke up this morning and the tape has ripped part of my skin off. Well so much for that helping.

As you can see, I am mainly just procrastinating. I have a very large paper that determines if I graduate with my Master's or not due on Feb. 24th at 5pm sharp. I have a lot of research to do, but every time I read something, I just am not feeling like it is what I am looking for. I am slowly whittling down my resources. I have 50 right now, and I need to keep above 25 so I am hoping somewhere in the stack, I can find something useful.

Ok, back to reading. My goal is to work on Saturdays and Sundays on THE PAPER and spend the weeknights working on homework for the two classes I will be starting next week. Hopefully this semester won't be too tough. It is my last semester! I can't wait to not have to worry about homework.

One of the first things I will be doing come Feb. 25th is use my Cricut. I want to catch up on scrapbooking and can't wait to do that after work and on the weekends, instead of homework. May 7th can't come soon enough!

Happy New Years!

I spent my New Year's Eve in NYC! It was a lot of fun. I have never been, so to have two experiences in one was amazing. The first day was absolutely freezing. Thank you lady vendor on the street corner for my new hat to keep me warm! We went into Time Square to see all the setting up for the big night. Then we went to Rockefeller Center, but didn't skate like I was hoping too. It was just way too cold. We went to the Top of the Rock where even though it was SO cold and windy, it was clear and could see all of New York City. Then we wandered around some more before heading back to the hotel to get some beauty rest.

On Wednesday we went downtown towards Macy's and the shopping district. We decided to do the "Hop On, Hop Off" bus tour. This is the same bus tour that I did in Paris and Barcelona. I think every city should have on of these! It is a great way to see what you want, when you want. We saw most of downtown. We got off at the Battery Park stop to take the ferry to the Statue of Liberty but the line was 3 hours long, so we opted to go to South Seaport instead and take a high speed catamaran around the statue. Because the only tickets that were not sold out for the statue were for the pedestal, I felt alright with doing it this other way. This night we went to Rock of Ages on Broadway. It was so amazing. It was a show about a band dropping their lead singer and trying to find another, while a girl moved to LA to chase her dreams of being an actress. Classic love story put to the tunes of 80's cover songs! Loved it!!!! The picture below is of me and Jeremy Woodward, a cast member from the show.

On New Year's Eve we woke up to wet snow. Yucky. So we had to change our plans of going to Central Park to Friday. We went down to Canal St to brave the adventure of buying a handbag. It went alright. The hard part for me is that I am not a get in get out kind of person. I like to wander around and look and pick something that appeals to me, not just go in and grab the first one I see. I did end up going back to the first place I was at and get one of the first ones. We then wandered down to Battery Park and took a taxi by Ground Zero and went to a movie, yes, I saw a movie in NYC. It was a crappy day.

We then went back to the hotel to get ready for a night of celebration. We went around two corners or so to Gotham Comedy Club, where we watched Adam Ferrera performed. He was pretty hilarious. Then we went around the corner from our hotel to Rogue, a small, but swanky bar to ring in the new year. We ate NY cheesecake and did a lot of people watching. There were a lot of interesting people! At about 1:30 or 2:00 am we called it a night and went back to get some sleep so we could see Central Park in the morning before we had to be to the airport.

All in all this was a good New Year's celebration. I am hoping that 2010 will be much better than the second half of 2009. I am ready for a new year, new adventures and less stress. Things coming up this year:
January - my birthday
February - my final paper is due
March - I can finally use my new Cricut...
